Natual Disaster #1: 1985 Nevado del Ruiz volcano



The Nevado del Ruiz volcano has been one of the greatest natural disasters this world has ever seen. It completely destroyed the small town of Armero killing over 23,000 people while injuring around 5,000 more. This has been the 2nd deadliest volcano of the 20th century, right behind the 1902 eruption of Mount Pelee. The main reason for the casualties were the lahars that came rolling down covering the town.
